Leucadendron Conicum

Leucadendron (cone bush)

About Leucadendron Conicum

Leucadendron conicum commonly known as Garden Route Conebush is a large shrub that will grow to approximately 18 feet in height. It has handsome soft green foliage with red tinged small leaves. The cones appear in spring. It is grown commercially for its cut foliage. Flowers are red center with cream petals. The seed heads of Leucadendron are woody cone-like structures. This gave rise to their generic common name cone-bush. They are prized for their exotic-looking attractive flowers, cones and foliage. Leucadendron blossoms make excellent cut flowers, keeping their gorgeous red, burgundy, green or yellow color for up to three weeks.
